Frankfurt

This is the plane that got me from DFW to Frankfurt. I have about 12  hours until my flight to Amman, so I'll catch the train into town and check it out.

The Plan

This is  our tentative itinerary. Spend some time  around Madaba (Mosaics of Madaba, Mount Nebo, Dead Sea, Jordan River). Then south to see the crusader castle at Karak and on to Petra. Spend some time at Petra, then on to Aqaba and Wadi Rum. Work our way back up on the King's Highway checking out another crusader castle at Shobak. Details to come.

Getting There

This is how I will get to Jordan. Elapsed time from take off at DFW to touch down at AMM (Queen Alia International Airport) near Amman will be 25 hours and 30 minutes. Counting the time I am up before my flight and the time it takes to get through customs and to the hotel  in Madaba, I will be up 38 hours. My brother will arrive separately before I get there and will already be checked into the hotel.

Crossing Jordan

Two  years ago my brother and I went to Syria.  That's not going to be an option for the foreseeable future, so this year we are going to check out Jordan.

White Christmas

 We had just opened presents when it started to snow. Before it was all over, we had a pretty good coating of the white stuff!

Christmas Time

The Thanksgiving leftovers have been thrown out, which for me marks the official beginning of the Christmas Season. I saw these trees lit up in downtown Fort Worth on my way home from work and decided that I had to stop and photograph them.

Another Artist in the Family

Not many people know it, but when I was younger I had a little bit of an artistic streak in me. While going through some boxes with my Mom, we came across some artwork that was done by my Grandfather when he was in the fifth grade. Since he was born around the turn of the century, this was done circa 1910!
