New Xterra

Picked up the new Xterra today. The process was almost painless and I was in and out in only a few minutes. I'm ready for a trip to the mountains now!

I took a picture of the van odometer after I pulled into the dealership. The new Xterra has 5 miles on it.

Goodbye Old Friend

I've made a deal to purchase a new vehicle today, so decided to take a few photos of the old van. I've driven it almost 13 years and have over 200,000 miles on it. It was great for taking the dog and/or one of the kids camping and hiking up in the mountains. Getting to some of the trailheads was challenging at times though. So I guess it's about time to say goodbye.

Transit of Venus

There's a little black spot on the sun today (apologies to The Police). I thought clouds would keep me from getting this shot, but by the time I got home the clouds parted and I got the shot. Look closely and in addition to Venus, you can see some sunspots.

Good-bye Venus! See you again in 2117.
